How to crop your photo for internet dating
(Oh yes, we’re going there.) To those of you out there who have tried online dating, and spent hours wading through profiles after profiles — especially profile To those of you who have never experienced the modern marvel that is online dating, believe me, I couldn’t make some of this stuff up if I tried.
But for the general good of the online dating world, and to hopefully offer some help to all of those handsome bachelors out there considering a bathroom selfie, I would like to offer this helpful little list of 10 photos guys should NOT post for online dating.
To fake the look that someone else is taking your picture, we’re going to use a tripod. This one requires a separate adapter to hold an i Phone.
If you don’t want to buy a tripod, a table stacked with books and a Kleenex box may temporarily suffice. The goal is to get your camera a few feet away from you at about eye level.
They would involve other people and/or putting yourself in a vulnerable situation. You’d end up snapping a selfie in your bathroom mirror like everyone else. The scene you are creating is this: you were hanging out at your place with at least one other person, and they took a photo of you being good-looking and normal. I’m back with another post in my series on being single. And since this time of the year can sometimes be a bit of a downer for singles, I thought we’d lighten the mood with the topic that never fails to entertain — online dating photos.(You do NOT actually need to have a friend present, let me remind you.
We’re just pretending you’re not by yourself in your apartment.) As for where this scene should take place… (Bedrooms read as presumptuous at best; predatory at worst.) The most important element, however, is lighting.
That’s why I’m not here to tell you how to take “the best dating photo ever.” Rather, I’m here to teach you how to get above-average pictures easily, without leaving home. This could look like you holding your guitar while smiling at your friend; just sitting there confidently with a smile on your face, your elbow brushing against a side table with your favorite book on it; holding a coffee mug; playing with your dog.
